Pricematching to Online Retailers
Whenever I go shopping, I always whip out my smartphone to compare prices. If the store’s price is comparable, I’d probably just buy it there. If the difference is significant, I’ll definitely buy it online.
This weekend, I went to Best Buy to buy a digital TV antenna since I decided to go ahead and get rid of my cable subscription. The one I wanted to get turned out to be $40 at Amazon. When an employee asked why I was leaving without buying anything, I told him I was just going to buy it from Amazon. That’s when she replied that they pricematched to Amazon and a lot of other online retailers. I was pleasantly surprised to hear this because I hadn’t heard of many stores matching online prices. And from what I’ve seen, a good majority of goods are cheaper online. I thought this was worth mentioning because it’s always nice to buy from a brick and mortar store so you can bring the item home as soon as you buy it as well as making it easier for returns. So the next time you are at a store, but see it cheaper online, check to see if the store will match the lower price.

Wow, I had no idea they would do this. Very good to know! That’s great for DVDs and such too.
