I just found out about State Sales Tax Holidays where, in certain states, you don’t have to pay sales tax on specified days.  Take a look at the list to see if you can benefit from these state perks.  The idea seems to be a relatively recent development with the earliest listed as starting in 1999.  Too bad my home state of California doesn’t offer anything like this*.

*That’s probably the reason why the sales tax holiday concept is new to me.
